In a notable step towards modernizing workplace access control, Signal OS, in collaboration with Ghelamco, has launched an employee badges solution — Wayin — integrated into digital Wallets at the Warsaw UNIT in Q4 of 2023. This initiative positions Warsaw UNIT as one of the first buildings in Poland to adopt this advanced technology, reflecting a commitment to innovation and sustainability in office management.
The launch at Warsaw UNIT features us — Signal OS, a proptech company with the cutting-edge solution Wayin, utilizing HID Global’s mobile access solutions. This system integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure. Wayin manages not only access but also integrates various building management systems and components, such as elevators, doors, and employee management, all accessible in Admin Panel and embodied via digital badges in digital wallets on smartphones.
The employee badge in digital wallets allows users to access building facilities without the need for physical access cards. This includes unlocking doors, using elevators, and passing through gates with a simple tap of their device.
Using digital wallets for employee badges ensures that access credentials are stored securely on the device, maintaining privacy and security. In the event of a lost device, credentials can be quickly deactivated to prevent unauthorized access.
This system streamlines the access process by eliminating the need for physical cards, reducing the risk of loss or misplacement. It also offers building administrators a more efficient way to manage access permissions and monitor building entry points.
By reducing reliance on plastic access cards, this initiative supports Ghelamco’s environmental goals, helping to lower plastic waste and the associated carbon footprint of producing and disposing of traditional badges.
The implementation at Warsaw UNIT is part of Signal OS's broader strategy to integrate smart building technologies across the most modern office properties. We will expand this mobile access technology to various other developments, including the upcoming The Bridge skyscraper.
